25 years ago a bunch of theatrical kids put on a play about the first Thanksgiving. All the moms were quick to point out that the women of the colony planted, harvested, cooked, cleaned, and did everything but kill the turkey. "Women of the Colony" became a catchphrase often used in connection with our colossal meals.
